Potassium Niobate
( KN, KNbO3 )

Potassium niobate is a perovskite type crystal with very strong ferroelectrisity. Its nonlinear optical figure of merit d2/n3, electro-optical and photorefractive figure of merit n3G/e are the highest among all oxide crystals. Its high chemical stability, high nonlinear optical coefficient and many other unique characteristics make it a ideal NLO crystal used in the field of SHG, EOM, OPO and photorefractivity.
